I love happening upon interesting people, places, and events – that’s serendipitous travel in a nutshell – and I love to write about it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a planner, not the most spontaneous person you could meet, but the best part of traveling always turns out to be the unexpected. The chance encounter with a fun-loving traveler who invites you to visit them on the other side of the world, meandering through a park as live music starts playing, or discovering a spectacular waterfall buried in the woods. A friend wrote that she’s planning for the future instead of living in the present, saying we all do it, and I agree. Traveling brings a new perspective to life that helps me stop living in the future all the time and enjoy the present a little more. Hopefully I can pass on some of that spirit in this blog.
